Omni Medical Systems
Omni Measurement Systems manufactures an extended wear, self-powered, semi-automatic bladder relief device for aircrew. It was developed through the Air Force/Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Phase I, Phase II, Phase II Enhancement and Phase III contracts.
The Advanced Mission Extender Device (AMXD®) uses innovative technology and is the first solution for fighter pilots dealing with longer duration sorties. This significantly improves aircrew endurance in closed-cockpit environments of present day fixed wing aircraft. This system permits aircrew to better concentrate on mission objectives without distraction or interruption related to the need to void while allowing them to remain fully hydrated.
The AMXD® is certified Safe To Fly on all USAF aircraft as well as FDA approved. It is also being repackaged for Chemical-Biological (CB) use so that the entire system can be worn comfortably and unobtrusively inside the CB suit. This capability will allow soldiers to relieve their bladders safely without breaking the seal of their protective suit. This patented technology and capability is owned by Omni and can be modified and reconfigured to provide an effective bladder relief solution to Army War fighters.
To meet the worldwide demand, Omni has opened a new 30,000 - square-foot state of the art production and research facility at the Catamount Industrial Park located in Milton, Vermont . The facility contains a five-micron clean room, an environmental chamber, medical laboratory, and medical examining room. The facility has instrumentation development equipment with state of the art capabilities.
