SARBE have been developing and manufacturing life saving Locator Beacons since World War II. Since then the SARBE name has become the standard by which endurance and performance are measured.
Our extensive range of Personal Locator Beacons, Emergency Location Transmitters, and Submarine Locator Beacons is in Tri-Service use on every continent. Armed Forces, expeditions and other personnel exposed to hazardous environments know they can rely on SARBE to ensure accurate location and fast recovery.
Signature's SARBE division and McMurdo have combined to create one of the world's largest suppliers of Cospas-Sarsat approved locator beacons for military aviation, general aviation, maritime, and leisure markets. Both companies have a long history of supplying safety critical survival beacons. SARBE is one of the world leaders in the military survival radio sector and McMurdo hold a similar position in the maritime industry.
With impending changes to the COSPAS-SARSAT satellite monitoring system, much of the equipment currently in service will require replacement by February 2009. With this in mind, SARBE have already upgraded their portfolio of Beacons to also transmit on 406MHz.This is further proof why SARBE and McMurdo are well positioned to support new and existing users wherever in the world they may be.
